Catherine's Bio
Catherine is a designer who splits her time between designing sets and costumes for theatre and dance, and making one of a kind silver jewellery. She has also worked in film, television, multi-media, world's fairs, advertising and teaching, in Vancouver, the BC Interior, across Canada and beyond.
Catherine is known and celebrated for her ingenuity and vision as well as her painting, prop wizardry and maskmaking. Vermont's Bread and Puppet Theatre, Brisbane's Expo 88, Leaky Heaven Circus in Vancouver, Cold Springs Harbour Research Lab in Long Island, and the National Arts Centre in Ottawa are some companies that have illustrated her versatility. Catherine's long time association as designer with the Caravan Farm Theatre and the Caravan Stage Company helped develop and hone the unique populist spectacle style for which they have achieved reknown. Most recently, she designed a set of parade costumes for Victoria's 150th summer long birthday celebration.
